<p>KCCI is a full service television station in Des Moines, Iowa, broadcasting on local digital VHF channel 8. Founded in 1955 as KRNT-TV, it is owned by Hearst Television, Inc. KCCI is affiliated with CBS, airing CBS's primetime shows in the evening. </p><p>In the morning, the station airs CBS's morning news and information program, with spots for local news and weather; in the afternoon, it airs CBS's soap operas; in the early evening, it shows CBS's national news broadcast and local newscasts. After primetime, it airs its own local newscasts, followed by CBS's late-night programming. KCCI also airs local sports broadcasts. </p><p>KCCI's channel is multiplexed, with two subchannels. Channel 8.1 shows KCCI and CBS programs, and 8.2 airs Me-TV. The station used the call sign KTNT-TV from 1955 until 1974.</p>
